Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in specific - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after spring of that year.

The win also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one different tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters together, so to get a title is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

His counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional victory, seized the initiative to force a final set.

He rescued four initial break points in a close third set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he secured the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
